I offer personalized coaching services for anyone interested in running, cycling, and multisport. No matter if you're a beginner, an age-group winner, or an elite athlete, I can tailor a plan to help you achieve your goals.
Having been a former collegiate runner and still currently a competitive age-grouper, I have been seriously running for about 25 years. I currently hold certifications with both USA Track & Field (Level 2 Endurance) and with Road Runners Club of America.
I have been cycling for the past 10 years. My main personal interest in cycling comes from doing endurance rides (mainly centuries). My racing experience comes from competing in duathlons. I currently hold a certification with USA Cycling (Level 2).
I have competed in duathlons in the past, and though I haven't raced one in 6 years, I plan on becoming competitive in duathlons again starting this year.

WHY WOULD I NEED A PERSONAL COACH?
RUNNERS, CYCLISTS, DUATHLETES AND TRIATHLETES NEED PERSONAL COACHING FOR VARIOUS REASONS. SOME PEOPLE MAY NEED THE MOTIVATION THAT WORKING WITH A COACH PROVIDES THEM. OTHERS MAY NOT FEEL CONFIDENT DESIGNING AND IMPLEMENTING THEIR OWN WORKOUT PLANS, OR MODIFYING THEM WHEN ADJUSTMENTS NEED TO BE MADE. MOST PEOPLE ARE NOT CAPABLE OF OBJECTIVELY COACHING THEMSELVES, AND THEY CAN EITHER OVER-TRAIN OR UNDER-TRAIN. A COACH CAN ALSO MAKE DAILY ADJUSTMENTS TO MAKE SURE THE ATHLETE GETS THE MOST OUT OF THEIR TRAINING WITHOUT RISKING INJURY. PEOPLE CAN HAVE MANY GOALS IN MIND WHEN THEY START A TRAINING PROGRAM. ONE MAY BE TO JUST SIMPLY GET OFF THE COUCH AND DO SOMETHING. ANOTHER MAY BE TO SIMPLY LOSE WEIGHT. ATHLETES MAY HAVE COMPETED BEFORE AND WANT TO ATTAIN A NEW PERSONAL RECORD, OR PR. OR YOU MAY HAVE A GOAL OF TRYING TO QUALIFY FOR THE OLYMPIC TRIALS. WHATEVER THE GOAL IS, A PERSONAL COACH CAN HELP MAKE THAT HAPPEN.
CAN YOU EXPECT TO IMPROVE QUICKLY?
SURE, IN A LOT OF CASES, THAT CAN HAPPEN. BUT REALIZE, ALSO, THAT TRAINING AND ATTAINING GOALS IS A PROCESS. SOMETIMES, IT MAY COME QUICKLY, AND SOMETIMES, IT MAY TAKE LONGER THAN YOU REALIZE. IT DEPENDS ON A LOT OF DIFFERENT FACTORS, INCLUDING HOW BIG THE FINAL GOAL IS AND HOW LONG IT MAY TAKE TO ACHIEVE THE GOAL. EACH PERSON OR ATHLETE IS DIFFERENT AND HAVE DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS AND HISTORIES. OCCASIONALLY, THERE ARE BUMPS ON THE ROAD TO SUCCESS AND YOU HAVE TO BE PATIENT.
AM I THE RIGHT COACH FOR YOU?
SOMETIMES A COACH AND ATHLETE CAN GEL AND QUICKLY MAKE STRIDES AND OTHER TIMES IT MAY TAKE A LITTLE LONGER TO MAKE THE RELATIONSHIP WORK. ARE ALL COACHES AND ATHLETES COMPATIBLE WITH EACH OTHER? SIMPLE ANSWER IS NO, NOT ALL COACHES ARE THE RIGHT FIT FOR AN ATHLETE. YOU, AS AN ATHLETE AND AS A PERSON, NEED TO BE COMFORTABLE WITH YOUR COACH, AND MAKE SURE THAT YOUR COACH REALLY FULLY UNDERSTANDS WHAT YOUR NEEDS AND WANTS ARE.
HOW DO I RECEIVE MY WORKOUTS?
RIGHT NOW, WORKOUTS WILL BE DELIVERED VIA E-MAIL. IF E-MAIL IS NOT POSSIBLE, I CAN SEND THEM TO YOU BY SNAIL MAIL. IN THE NEAR FUTURE, THE GOAL IS FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO PUT YOUR WORKOUTS ONLINE (SECURE, SO THAT ONLY YOU AND I CAN SEE THEM) AND HAVE YOU POST YOUR RESULTS ONLINE FOR ME TO REVIEW THEM.
